Seattle has a temperate marine climate with wet winters and dry summers. Summer often average temperature in the 70F while winters get in the upper 30F. Rain and wind are frequent in Seattle.

Best Time to Visit

The best period to visit Seattle is generally July through September when temperatures are the warmest and rain chances lower. Some people also like to visit during early fall when there are fewer crowds, lower prices and still fairly good weather. The cheapest period is the winter when the weather is the least convenient.

Seattle is fairly safe as long as you remain vigilant. You should be careful of your surroundings, avoid walking alone at night and watch out for the neighborhood you visit. In the past years, Seattle has experienced issues with drugs and homelessness. Areas we would recommend to avoid are Pioneer Square and Chinatown at night, and the 3rd Avenue.

Does it rain a lot in Seattle?

Yes, gray sky and rain are frequent in Seattle. The rain is not heavy, but rather a frequent light rain.
