Are you looking for free activities on the island of O’ahu? If you do, you are at the right place. Here are several fun activities in Hawaii’s third-biggest island. Please, note that this is not a ranking, just a list of activities.

1. Pu'uloa (Pearl Harbor)
Pearl Harbor is one of Hawaii's most popular sites from a historical standpoint. The site of Pearl Harbor contains the USS Arizona memorial and a couple museums. The three museums are not free, but the access to the site, and the USS Arizona memorial are! Therefore, if you wanna see Pearl Harbor for free, it is definitely possible. 2. Manoa Falls
Hawaii is well known for its beautiful places. One of those is Manoa Falls. These gorgeous falls are made accessible by a one hour long trail going through the Hawaiian jungle. Although the parking is charged, the access to the trail is free. We made a more detailed description of the trail here.

3. Pu’u ‘Ualaka’a State Wayside
If you would like to enjoy a beautiful view of Honolulu, this is the right spot. Pu’u ‘Ualaka’a is a state park featuring a point of view over Hawaii’s state capital. Both the access to the park and the parking are free of access.

4. Visit Waikiki
Waikiki is very touristy for sure, but that doesn’t mean it is bad. The neighborhood has plenty of shops, restaurants and beaches to visit. Some hotels also offer some free shows for visitors. For example, the Hilton Hawaiian Village displays on one of its walls what was the world’s tallest mosaic when opened. It is also there that fireworks are held every Friday year round.

5. Kaiwi State Scenic Shoreline
If you want to enjoy stunning ocean views of the pacific ocean, Kaiwi can offer you the opportunity to do that. The state park is well known for its Makapu’u point and associated lighthouse accessible via a trail taking around 2H to complete. 6. Dole Plantation
You may know the agricultural company “Dole”, but did you know that the following was founded in Hawaii in 1851? The company first known as the Hawaiian Pineapple Company has since grown a lot becoming a giant of commercial agriculture. That is the focus of the Dole plantation. The place has several attractions on the theme of pineapple. That includes a train as well as a maze. The site is free of access, but the attractions need to be paid.

7. Visit Hale’iwa
If you enjoy walking around colorful local towns, you may be interested in visiting Hale’iwa. This town, which once was a sugar plantation, has since decades been a popular spot in Hawaii. The surfing town is a great gateway to O’ahu North Shore and features local boutiques, food trucks as well as surf related stuff. It is also a great spot for people going to other nearby places like Waimea Bay.
